The state enterprise Ton That Thuyet Port was established on 23 August 1989 under the management of the District 4 People’s Committee, HCM City, which is focusing on renovating and expanding on a large scale in order to serve District 4’s economic development strategy. Getting the establishment decision No. 144/QĐ-UB from the City People’s Committee on 29 March 1903, Ton That Thuyet Port came into operation as a State enterprise with independent accounting, financial self-control, and separate legal entity and seal.

     The port is conveniently situated for its service activities such as possible export or import of warehoused goods by land or by waterway and activites of Phu Quoc ships with cargo thereon forwarded conveniently in two ways from the port to Phu Quoc and vice versa. In addition, passenger ships are conveniently available for cargo transport from western provinces to HCM City via the port. At the same time, a waterway transport service is available to transport tourists to western provinces from there.

     Implementing the Party and State’s policy on the equitization of state-owned enterprises in HCM City, in order to enable employees to become collective owners, who will work with a higher sense of responsibility in their jobs and become ever aware of cost saving to get high profits, the state enterprise Ton That Thuyet Port was transformed into Ton That Thuyet Port Joint Stock Company according to decision no. 5784/QĐ-UB by the HCM City People’s Committee dated 31 December 2003 to operate as a subsidiary of the Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO).

- Fuel and construction material trading ;

- Cargo loading & unloading, forwarding, and package checking services;

- Office, space, warehouse, kiosk, and workshop rental;

- Cargo transport harbour services;

- Passenger ship services for travel to western provinces;

- Road and waterway cargo transport.
