SAMCO awards scholarships to good students making academic efforts against difficult familial conditions

The Trade Union of Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation on 18 August 2018 awarded scholarships to students being the children of some of the SAMCO staff who studied well for the 2017 – 2018 school-year under difficult familial conditions. Also present at the event was Ms. Vo Thi Minh Phuong, from the HCM City Federation of Labour.

    15 Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships, worth VND 2 million each, were awarded to 211 good students for the 2017- 2018 school-year.

Ms. Tang Thi Thu Ly - Deputy General Director of the corporation - awards Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships to the good students.

At the ceremony, the students had an opportunity to share how academic efforts were made against difficult familial conditions by the following four of them:

- Nguyen Hoang Minh Khoi, a 12th grader of Le Hong Phong high school, who was ranked as a 12-consecutive-year good student and won the 1st prize in the National Science and Technology Contest for the 2017 – 2018 school-year;

- Tăng Ngoc Chau Nhi, a 12th grader of Gia Dinh high school of Binh Thanh District, who won the 1st prize in Philology in the city-level Good Student Contest;

- Vo Hoang Nam, a 10th grader of Vo Van Kiet high school, who won a gold medal in Chemistry in the 4th April Olympic contest of HCM City for the 2017 – 2018 school-year.

- Nguyen Hoang Tuyet Trinh, a 12th grader of Tran Khai Nguyen high school, who was a level-city winner of the 1st prize in Biology for the 2017 – 2018 school-year.
